A CEL study of dynamic slamming response and failure mechanism on corrugated core composite-metal sandwich structures

This paper aims to evaluate the dynamic response and failure mechanism of corrugated core composite metal sandwich structures under complicated fluid-structure interaction. Firstly, a reliable numerical model is established in ABAQUS/Explicit using Coupled Eulerian-Lagrangian (CEL) method. Subsequently, influence slamming velocity aluminum direction on studied virtue hydrodynamic force, deflection, transient pressure microstrain. Finally, damage modes are by ultimate exploration progressive analysis. Results illustrate that force experiences sudden ascending stage before reaching peak value, which sensitive variation local deadrise angle near chine. Severe skin debonding buckling chine both alleviated 10 m/s compared with 8 for transverse structures, accompanied dominating matrix tension face sheet.
